project 365 - day 155

I have an obsession with office supplies. I love them. I do. I could spent hours in Staples or Office Depot. I don't know what it is about them, but they're so clean and full of possibility. When I saw these, I had to have them. Actually I wanted every single color (dozens!) that was available. But I showed a little restraint and stuck to 10 colors. They are permanenet like Sharpies, but really thin. And ever so many colors. With cute names like Sunset Orange and Fandango Pink. How could a girl resist??

project 365 - day 154

I had to go to Build a Bear. By myself. To build two bears I'd already previously built. Because Rico ATE both of mine. But I'm at peace with this. Really.

project 365 - day 153

I found this when I was cleaning. It's a vase I made years ago at one of those little paint your own pottery places. Totally forgot about it. I think it's kinda cute, but I am not sure where I'm going to put it.

project 365 - day 152

I realized I never took a photo of the pool table to share. This was bought on a whim, but it's been a fun little entertainment for us. More for the kids than the adults, but it does provide me with another means by which to kick Perry's but on a regular basis.

project 365 - day 151

This is the photo that we have hanging over our bed. I got it for Perry YEARS ago for Christmas. I liked it because the doggie in it looks a LOT like Calvin. Who, in case I've never mentioned it, was the best dog we've ever owned (sorry Rico and Jasper, but it's true).

project 365 - day 150

This rates it's own photo, not just beacause the pretty hand vac downstairs got a pic, but because I think this might be the best vacuum we've ever owned. Nothing else in the house gets up the little bits of stray kitty litter that Sherbert kicks out of the box better than this thing! Amazing.

project 365 - day 149

This is how behind I am on my scrapbooking. An entire box of photos and then some. Actually it's more than this because I haven't printed pictures through Shutterfly like all year. It gives me an anxiety attack just to look at it. Will I ever catch up??

project 365 - day 148

This is the kid's growth chart. I have done pretty good with keeping up on measurements (PRETTY good. Not great) but I desperately need to stick some pictures in there!

project 365 - day 147

Ever since I organized my scrap room, I have been in search of an awesome organizer for my stamp pads, stickles, etc. I finally found it at Organize More. LOVE this.

project 365 - day 146

Since starting Heart Link, I am constantly getting business cards from other women in business, so I decided I need a place to put them. It's not the most glamourous looking thing in the world, but it does come in SO handy when I need to find a company that I've got a connection at!

project 365 - day 145

Rico, doing his favorite thing - relaxing! He's quite good at that. No matter where or when he's sleeping, he'll always comem

follow me if I leave the room he's in. It's kind of cute, actually.

project 365 - day 144

Some of Owen's trophies. This isn't actually all of them, just one shelf. My little sports kid!

project 365 - day 143

The kids playing around with daddy before Nicole's soccer practice started.

project 365 - day 142

This is actually another photo from the other day when Nicole went to the birthday party at the farm. Too cute not to feature in my album! I was a little surprised she wasn't scared to hold all these guys!

project 365 - day 140

Owen had the closing ceremonies for baseball today. MUCH better organized than last year, because we didn't have to stand outside in the sun for hours watching all the league officials pat themselves on the back.

project 365 - day 139

Nicole went to a birthday party at at farm and got to hold all kinds of cute animals. She had a fabulous time!

project 365 - day 138

For the longest time I've collected the Beanie Baby dogs. Just the dogs. Just cause I love dogs. Duh. I don't keep them prisine or anything, so they have pretty much no resale value (in fact they are currently dusty as hell). I don't know if they still make any new ones, as I've gotten very behind in my "collecting" but I can't bear to part with the ones I have. They are just too cute!

project 365 - day 137

Another of my mother's day presents was some yummy smelling candles. I am something of a candle freak. It's a wonder I haven't joined any of the candle companies yet, but honestly I think I don't want to limit myself to just one brand when there are so many good ones out there!

project 365 - day 136

Those that know me know I'm always on the quest for better organization. Frankly, I'm probably fighting a losing battle around these parts, but I keep trying! This is one of the shelves in the loft that used to be a complete disaster but now is marginally organized - extra photos, scrapbooking books, etc.

project 365 - day 135

Nicole got a butterfly habitat for her birthday, and we've been working on creating butterflies. This is a pic of the habitat right after the butterflies emerged from their cocoons.

project 365 - day 134

Happy Mother's Day! This is one of the things that Perry got my for mother's day. It's a cool digital frame that has interchangable colored frames you can put around it. Since I'm a red kinda girl, I have the red one on. Not sure where I'm going to put this yet though.

project 365 - day 133

For awhile now, Jasper has been slowing down, losing weight, and he started peeing everywhere. Hmmm...this seems vaguely familiar. Spike went through much the same thing right before he got diagnosed with diabetes. Yep, Jasper is following in Spike's itty bitty footsteps and is now also an insulin dependent dog. Hence the rather large sharps container that is now taking up a giant portion of the dog supplies cabinet. Frankly I was hoping for the diabetes diagnosis when he started acting off, because at least we've done that before, we know what we're doing with it, and it's fairly easy to treat. Assuming you don't mind giving a big dog a needle twice a day for the rest of his life. Which is more difficult with Jasper than it was with Spike because Jazz's fur tends to get in the way, and also because Jazz doesn't have near the amount of neck roll to grab onto that Spike did. But we're making do, and he seems to be responding very well to treatment so far. With any luck, my days of mopping the floor every single night are nearing a close!

project 365 - day 132

As part of my mother's day present, Perry had roses delivered. Early even. I didn't realize I had him so well trained. And they came with quite a cute vase, and even some little bath product fun-ness. Very impressive. And of course the roses are beautiful, as you can see.

project 365 - day 131

This week is teacher appreciation week, and tomorrow the kids in Nicole's class are all supposed to bring a single flower in for their teacher to make a unique arrangement. So of course in the process of picking up a flower for Nicole to give to her teacher, I just had to get some flowers for myself, as well. Or more specifically I guess, for the house. Not sure which of these Nicole will snag for her teacher, though.

project 365 - day 130

I changed things around on the family room coffee table. You might recognize the tray...I had it on the dining room table for awhile. Decided I liked that table better without it, but I really wanted to use the tray somewhere, so I switched it to the dining room. I like it there, for the time being. I also got the little tealight holders that go with it, so I put those on there, too. It's all Southern Living stuff, too.

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

project 365 - day 129

Nicole wanted me to take a picture of her dinosaur, so I did. This was something she got at the gift shop at Dinosaur World when we were there for her birthday party. Amazingly it has lasted this long. I told her that the picture might very well be in memory of the poor thing if she didn't lock it away in her room away from Rico. He's not terribly discriminating when choosing what to chew up.

project 365 - day 128

This is one of Jefferson's favorite spots in the house. Unfortunately, he has a tendency not to gracefully jump up there, like one might expect a cat would, but rather to claw his way up there inch by inch, sacrificing my leather couches along the way. Luckily you can't really SEE all the holes in them unless you are at the right angle and fairly close to the couch, but I know they are there, and it makes me cringe every time I catch sight of them. Damn cat.

project 365 - day 127

This year Owen's team has spent quite a good bit of time in the batting cages. Or maybe it's not a lot compared to other teams, but compared to his team last year not using them at all, it seems like a lot to me. Occassionally I will even remember to try to snap a pic of the experience.

Saturday, May 2, 2009

project 365 - day 126

Nicole decided to come in for an extreme close-up. Seemed like a good idea, I guess.

Friday, May 1, 2009

project 365 - day 125

Rico, much like Calvin before him, has it out for the little squeakers in the dog toys. Somehow they must all be destroyed. I don't mind this habit too much, other than the fact that I am forever picking fluff up from all over the house. Fluff and dog hair. Woo. Welcome to my world.
