To Do List Overwhelming? Try this!

So I'm juggling a lot in my life right now...my business, my household, and also settling up my mom's estate. Maybe some of you can relate to the whole "running around like a crazy person" thing I have going on. I seem to be plugging away at stuff constantly, but nothing feels like it's getting accomplished. I haven't been doing a good job sticking to my regular schedule, so today I decided it was time for a change-up.

Continuing Education

Lately I am all about the online classes. Not “real” classes, per se, but fun stuff, like classes on getting organized, classes on marketing your business, classes on blogging, etc. They are just too fun!!
At the moment I am in the midst of a blogging Q&A Webinar series, which is a follow-up to a 10 week blogging class, Smart Blogging Skills that was AWESOME!! So far so good.

And then my current favorite is a Kimberly Medlock Organization workshop. Love Love LOVE! I am all about getting organized, in every aspect of my life, and Kimberly is absolutely amazing. Google her, you’ll love her! We’ve gone over organizing your physical filing cabinet as well as your Outlook, and I can’t wait to see what is next!
So what have YOU learned lately? Recommend me a class – clearly I will need something to do once these current ones end… Smile

Organization ala Laundry Room

Many of you followed my drama surrounding my dryer fiasco and the subsequent purchase of a new one. I’m happy to report that my new washer and dryer have settled in nicely and stepped up to the plate as far as their daily cleaning duties go.

Not long after getting the new ones, I became inspired to give the whole laundry room a little bit of a makeover. Nothing crazy – I’m not painting in there (yet) but I figured I could at least clean it up and organize a bit. Enter Thirty-One (of course). I decided that our Square Utility Totes would be perfection for organizing stuff on the shelving above the washer and dryer. And boy was I right. LOVE how it came out.

There are a couple more, one for “Kid’s Stuff” and one for “Storage” but you get the idea. I adore things that are adorable and functional!

project 365 - day fifteen

Wow, two weeks down on the Project 365 thing. Woo. Today is the "after" photo of Owen's room. I didn't do a "before" pic for him. I think doing his room was overall maybe a little bit easier than Nicole's. He had less that I had to get rid of, and I didn't have as much furniture moving to do. But I think he has more stuff. Or at least more categories of stuff. It wasn't quite as easy to classify his things into the different bins. And I think in some ways that his room was more frustrating, because I have spent hours in the past, organizing him and giving him a system, and he continually blows it off (well, Nicole does too) and I have to start all over. Maybe this time will stick. I've told them both they have to pick up their rooms nightly and whatever is left out is trash. Not sure if that'll be enough motivation for them to do it or not, as they seem to both think that if something goes away, they can just get it again. If only life were that simple.

project 365 - day fourteen

My daughter's room - finished. Woohoo! I think that was more work than my scrapbook room. Or maybe it just seemed like it because I worked on it for more hours at a time. Between last night and today, I think it was about 11 hours. Insane. I got rid of several bags of trash, rearranged furniture, and organized all the toys. I'm going to try not to completely lose my mind in a week when it's a complete disaster again.

project 365 - day two

Being the spontaneous kind of girl that I am, I decided rather impulsively today that I needed to completely reorganize my scrapbooking space. So I figured it would be fitting that today's photo be a "before" shot. With luck, after will only be a few days away, as the destruction remodeling has already begun.
The photo here shows about 1/3 or 1/4 of my scrapbooking stuff, and doens't nearly convey the level of disaster that I operate in around here.
